A short generator run does not, by itself, describe the readiness of a site's standby-power arrangement. A useful maintenance request identifies the generator set, fuel and cooling systems, controls, automatic transfer switch (ATS), proposed tests and site constraints.
Describe the assets and operating context
List the number, location, model, asset identifier and operating hours of each generator where available. Share manufacturer manuals, maintenance records and recent alarms. Identify loads served, access limits and interruption constraints. Do not assume one service interval fits every set; manufacturer instructions, equipment condition and operating environment matter.
Separate generator and ATS scope
FLEZCO's generator maintenance service covers the engine, alternator, fuel and cooling systems and controls, with ATS maintenance available within the agreed scope. Ask the provider to distinguish inspection, testing, consumables, potential repairs and reporting for each asset. Identify the ATS model and source arrangement, and ask whether its inspection needs isolation or a separate work window.
Define the proposed operating and load tests
Clarify whether the request concerns a generator run, a transfer-system test, or performance testing at an agreed load. These have different site arrangements and operational effects. Do not assume live-load transfer or a particular test load before qualified personnel review the equipment and site. Request a record of the test method, limits, results and observations, plus an authorization route for work beyond scope.
Agree the handover
Identify the site contact, permits and available window. Request a report tying findings to assets, proposed actions and open items. Send the available equipment details and constraints through FLEZCO's quotation form. If records are incomplete, say so; an initial survey may be needed.
This is a service-request brief, not an operating or electrical test procedure. Qualified personnel must set the safety and test arrangements for the actual site and equipment.
